Help a Brotha Out and The Water Wizards of OZ

I received great feedback in some emails on my article from Mises.org yesterday–”The Water Wizards of OZ.” (If you haven’t visited mises.org, do it now.) Regarding the emails…
There were two in particular–one with concerns about overpopulation, and the other about those who hold public office with the interests of “the public” at heart, versus those darned [...]

Publishing Record

My publishing record for 2008 on Mises.org and Lewrockwell.com: 9/9. For 2009: 0/2.
Possible Conclusion: Spending more time writing my thesis and journal articles has made my other articles weaker, or I am just getting dumber. Either way, a key personal takeaway: humility and resilience are virtues.
I am working on another Obama critique of his ideas [...]

More on US Healthcare from McKinsey

As a follow-up to my article on US healthcare:  From The McKinsey Quarterly:
The High Cost of U.S. Health Care

As a general rule, the richer a country is, the more it spends per capita on health care. But the United States spends $650 billion more on health care than might be inferred from its wealth. The McKinsey [...]

Latest LR.com Article: “ObamaWorks: A ‘Compelling’ Investment”

I had an article on lewrockwell.com yesterday (see my previous post on this topic here). Here’s the link:
“ObamaWorks: A ‘Compelling’ Investment”

My Recent Articles on Mises.org and LR.com

I had a couple of articles come out this week. The first one is from lewrockwell.com:
“Government in Violation of Antitrust”
And this one from Mises.org (there should be an article critiquing Obama on Mises.org next week; it is on public/private partnerships):
“Private-Sector Health Care Leads the Way”

“The State’s Statistics” LR.com Article

Finally here: “The State’s Statistics.”
Excerpt:
The State and statistics go hand in hand. They are utilized by the State as a justification for its necessity; they can be compelling and sometimes intimidating – and the general public rarely questions them. Most people don’t understand how to make sense of the many numbers, ratios, and percentages spewed at [...]

Confusion Over My LR Article . . .

I have submitted a few articles to lewrockwell.com, all of which (so far) have been approved. The first one I submitted, “Stats and the State,” has not been published yet. However, the article title appears on the lewrockwell.com homepage today (and it appears over the Thanksgiving break). But the title links to the article “Superman [...]

“Neanderthal Economics” on Mises.org

My article criticizing Paul Krugman was published on Mises.org today with this great graphic:

“ObamaService” Article on Lewrockwell.com

For those interested I have an article on Lewrockwell.com today about Obama’s Universal Voluntary Service Program, which I correctly translate from Government Doublethink to layman’s terms as involuntary servitude. As this is my first article on Lewrockwell.com it will be good to get some feedback.

“Jobarama” Article on Mises.org

My article, “Jobarama: Obama’s Investment,” ran on Mises.org yesterday. There were some good comments generated here. The Mises.org community really set some people straight on the issues. My favorite comment would (of course) have to be the most thought-out and articulate, contain no grammatical or spelling errors, nor any hollow ad hominem attacks:
CAMORRISTA
CHRIS BROWN YOUR FULL [...]
